Working with UVA’s TTA/VA LTAP, Tony recently completed a series of public works maintenance workshops across the state, receiving much positive feedback and requests for more training sessions. Offered again this fall, Tony will provide two full days of public works training on topics including:

  • Roadside maintenance safety (work zone hazard analysis, power lines, power tool safety, heavy equipment operations, mowing, and tree safety)
  • Excavating and trenching (work zone setup, underground utility hazards, backhoe and excavator safety, and cave-in prevention)
  • Road and bridge safety (temporary traffic control, fall hazards and prevention, and winter maintenance)
  • Storm preparations (disaster and emergency preparations, forecasting and weather information resources, equipment, supplies).
