We can all agree on the advantages of high performing teams. The research is clear. High performing teams are better at innovation, have greater productivity, and use resources more effectively. High performing teams are not formed. They are built.
This course is designed to share the best insights from research and current best practices in high performance teambuilding. The course is hands-on, including case studies, practice material, and participant discussion. A focus is placed on applying the new skills within the work unit.

Kathy Gregory is a principal and consultant for the six fifty company in the areas of human resources, organizational development, leadership, technical editing, and public relations. With over 20 years of experience, Kathy works with a diverse group of transportation organizations including nonprofit groups, engineering service providers, government agencies, and manufacturing companies. She holds a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and integrates the principles of adult learning with her passion for communications to create a fun and interactive learning environment.
Kathy also has 8 years experience with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). In her last VDOT position, she was District Human Resources Manager for the Staunton District.
Who Should Attend
The intended audience would include anyone responsible for the management of team(s) including those with supervisory responsibilities as well as those who serve in team or committee leadership roles.

Special Registration Instructions for Employees of the Virginia Department of Transportation
VDOT employees must register through the VDOT Virtual Campus. Registration fees and related expenses for all VDOT employees will be paid from the VDOT Learning Services Center budget. Registrants should contact their District Training Coordinator or the VDOT Learning Services Center (Central Office employees) for instructions on how to seek reimbursement for travel expenses.
Due to current travel restrictions, VDOT employees are strongly encouraged to attend U. Va. TTA workshops on a day trip basis. Overnight travel requires permission from your District Administrator or Chief -- and in some cases higher levels of authority. If you require overnight lodging to attend a U. Va. TTA workshop, consult with your supervisor, District Training Coordinator, or VDOT Learning Services Center on travel approval procedures.
