Description

The University of Virginia invites you to attend a hands-on workshop for an introduction to Pavement Preventive Maintenance using Micro-surfacing, Ultra-thin Friction Course, Slurry Seal and Seal Coat techniques. This workshop teaches participants the proper planning and execution of these important pavement preservation techniques. The participants will be provided information on selecting the correct treatment to the appropriate pavement at the right time to extend the useful life of roadways. This workshop will cover the requirements of sample specifications, proper pavement selection, project planning, and operational oversight of successful projects. The workshop is for government officials responsible for asset management, project planning, oversight, and inspection of roadway improvement projects. This includes public works directors, supervisors, road masters, and foremen.

Instructor

Edwin Stellfox

Mr. Edwin C. Stellfox is a civil engineer and former director of the Maryland LTAP Center.  He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a Master’s in Education from Penn State University and over 45 years experience in Public Works with 30 years transferring transportation technology with the LTAP Program.
