Upon completion of this course, attendees will have a better understanding of how to:
Develop a working knowledge of regulatory agencies and regulations
Evaluate the design and construction of temporary and permanent erosion and sediment control and identify sediment control measures and their appropriate applications
Understand what erosion and sediment control measures identified in the plans and be able to review their applicability for installation
Effectively manage the erosion and sediment control plans, installation, and maintenance
Evaluate requirements that influence the installation, maintenance, inspection, and removal of erosion and sediment control measures.

Aimee Connerton has over 17 years in the Construction Products Industry currently serving Rinker Materials as a Technical Promotions Engineer in the Mid-Atlantic Area. She started her Technical Promotions career in the Stormwater Industry and it is still her passion. Aimee is active in the Precast Association of Virginia and is the current President Central Atlantic Precast Concrete Association. Aimee also sits on the Infrastructure Committee for ACPA. Aimee holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from The University of Maryland, College Park.
Who Should Attend
Anyone who operates machinery for excavation; plans and sets up temporary work zone for excavating purposes, utility workers, inspectors, installers, engineers, planners, equipment operators, public works personnel.

Special Registration Instructions for Employees of the Virginia Department of Transportation
VDOT employees must register through the VDOT Virtual Campus. Registration fees and related expenses for all VDOT employees will be paid from the VDOT Learning Services Center budget. Registrants should contact their District Training Coordinator or the VDOT Learning Services Center (Central Office employees) for instructions on how to seek reimbursement for travel expenses.
Due to current travel restrictions, VDOT employees are strongly encouraged to attend U. Va. TTA workshops on a day trip basis. Overnight travel requires permission from your District Administrator or Chief -- and in some cases higher levels of authority. If you require overnight lodging to attend a U. Va. TTA workshop, consult with your supervisor, District Training Coordinator, or VDOT Learning Services Center on travel approval procedures.
