Description

Did you know that the western region of Virginia is rich in carbonate aggregates, yet their use in paving surfaces has been limited due to safety concerns? This talk explores Virginia Department of Transportation’s ongoing efforts to reassess and optimize the use of these local materials in roadway construction. If safety challenges can be addressed, leveraging these resources could lead to significant benefits, including lower transportation costs, stronger local economies, and a reduced environmental footprint.
