Description
A properly installed pipe or box culvert should remain in service for 50 to 100 years with little or no repair. The instructor has documented installation practices for storm drainage pipe and box culverts at the local and state level. The focus of this class remains on promoting a solid understanding of installation, specifications, design requirements and material differences for pipe and box culvert systems. Empower your staff with the ability to properly inspect, design, install and accept all pipe and precast box culvert systems.
Join instructor, Walt Catlett for this lively online class that will change the way you think about installing storm drainage pipe. You will learn more about pipe fundamentals, soil gradation and compaction, excavation, bedding, joining pipe, backfilling and testing of storm drainage pipe. You will learn common crew tasks implemented during the installation and inspection of a properly installed storm drainage pipe. The training will help you identify the risks associated with pipe installation and ways to mitigate those risks.
Each module includes a recorded lecture, quiz, assignment and group discussion. The student has 1 hour and 15 minutes of independent study to complete the lecture (s), quiz and assignment. The class reconvenes for a 30-minute group discussion that further develops the modules learning outcomes.
